The West Seltice II District was opened in 2005, to develop public infrastructure to support mixed use housing, commercial and light industrial development on 248 acres adjacent to the Flex/cel manufacturing facility. A mixed-use "urban village" is under consideration, where residents can live, work, play and shop within the same area. The District is scheduled to expire in 2015.
The Post Falls URA is involved in the development of a new commercial, light industrial and mixed-use housing development on the west side of the City of Post Falls. The District was approved in late 2005, and infrastructure, including water, sewer, roadways and sidewalks are currently under construction.
The development will provide a wide range of housing alternatives, ranging from mixed-use housing with retail on the first floor and residential units on the second floor, to workforce rental housing. Commercial development will include office and neighborhood retail. The developer has agreed to donate land for a new City park, which will be constructed, and a new school site. Approximately one third of the District will be developed as light industrial and distribution buildings providing additional jobs for the community.
